From Nevada Representative February 16, 1915 (page 1)

MRS. W. H. GOLLY

Jane Perry daughter of William and Mary Perry, was born near Bodman, England June 30, 1847 and her spirit left its earthly home at 7:30 a. m. Feb. 3d 1915 at the home of her daughter Mrs. J. C. Jessen in Story City, Ia., after an illness of nearly eight weeks. There was but little hope of her recovery almost from the time she became ill but everything was done to keep her with her family and friends "hoping always against hope" that her life might be spared. But God in His infinite wisdom and goodness saw proper to call her unto Himself. She came with her parent to Ohio about 1853 and from there to Marshall county, Ia., in 1856 at which time a large portion of Iowa was virgin prairie. She lived to see it changed to splendid, well improved farms Nov. 18, 1869 she was united in marriage to W. H. Golly and about June 1st 1870 they located on the farm east of Zearing which continued to be their home until June 1912, a period of forty two years when they moved into Zearing and where since that time they have resided. Her marriage was blessed with ten children viz: Fred H. Golly, Myrtle M. Golly, W. H. Golly Jr., and Russell L. Golly of Zearing, Mrs. J. E. Beatty of Tucson, Ariz., C. E. Golly of Spencer, Ia., D. R. Golly of Humboldt, Ia., W. S. Golly of Blue Earth, Minn., Mrs. Catharine Jessen of Story City, Ia., and Perry T. Golly who preceded his mother to the spirit world Dec. 7, 1910 aged twenty three years and eight months. The husband and all the children, except Perry, are left to mourn their loss together with three sisters and one brother, Mrs. E. A. Everist of Marshalltown, Ia., Mrs. S. P. Thomas of Hunter, Okla., Mrs. S. H. Gill of Havelock, Ia., and C. H. Perry of Clay Center, Kansas and many other relatives and friends who knew and loved her. She was a charter member of Zearing chapter No. 237, O. E. S. and its first worthy matron and remained a member to the end of her life. The beautiful service at the final resting place was conducted by the chapter.

She had been a faithful, earnest member of the Church of Christ at Zearing since 1897. During her last illness, in answer to her pastor's question, "Suppose God should call you, how does the prospect appear to you?" She replied, "That does not disturb me, all is ready." A noble woman, wife and mother has gone to her reward. The funeral service was held in the Church of Christ at Zearing Feb. 8, conducted by her pastor Rev. J. H. McLaughlin, assisted by Rev. Busenburg, pastor of the United Evangelical church at Zearing.
