Funeral Service for Mrs. Masser Is Held at Colo

Colo, April 30--Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Masser who departed this life Sunday morning at 6:30 following brief illness of flu and complications at the home of her son, Dan V. Masser at Polk City, Iowa were held on Tuesday afternoon at Colo.

The pallbearers were Robert Jack, Lou Morrell, Orville Weir, Clyde Templeman, Chas. Reed and Chas. Yeager.

Music was furnished by the O. E. S. quartette, Miss Zola Carver, Mrs. Walter Bamford, Mrs. Chas. Yeager and Mrs. S. B. Goodenow. They were accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Merle Dickinson. Interment in Colo cemetery.

Mrs. Emma Masser was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Jan. 29th, 1853. Here she spent her younger girlhood. She was married to Daniel S. Masser at Gettysburg, Pa., on June 19, 1884. The first year of their married life were spent at Harrisburg, Pa. In 1897 the Massers moved to Colo, Iowa, where D. S. Masser was engaged in business until the time of his death, July 8. 1916.

Since then, Mrs. Emma Masser has been making her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dan V. Masser. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dan V. Masser, and a brother, Dan Engler of Kansas City, Kans.

Mrs. Emma Masser was of a sunny disposition and she made friends easily. She always regarded her Colo friends very highly. In her life, Colo was her home town, no matter wherever she resided.

She departed from this life to a fuller life Beyond at the home of her son in Polk City Sunday morning at 6:30. Her age at the time of her death was 83 years, two months and 27 days. She has lived a full and rounded life. Much history has been crowded within her span of life.

She was an eager reader of current events and literature and kept well informed of the vital life around her. Therefore she leaves a space in the family circle which will be impossible to fill.

She was a member of the Methodist church, also the Order of Eastern Star.
