Eugene "Geno" Buchanan
September 9, 1961 - September 21, 2019

Eugene Buchanan (aka “Geno”) was born September 9, 1961 to the parents of Elnora Buchanan and Eugene Bearden. He was the 6 child of ten children.

Eugene was born and raised in Chicago and attended Chicago Public Schools. He later received a certificate in Culinary of Arts. Eugene later relocated to Ames, Iowa where he met and married his wife Denise Knox whom he loved dearly and worked numerous jobs until his health begin to fail him.

Eugene was known for his sense of humor, his laughter, bright smile, and humble spirit. Eugene enjoyed spending time with his children in person, over the telephone, and communicating with his father, his siblings, as well as other family members. His favorite hobbies were making people laugh, cooking, listening to music, and watching sports.

As Eugene’s health begin to fail him, there were several requests he made known to his wife “Denise” to inform the followings:
1. “Dad, I told you I was going to beat it & I did. I love you dad”
2. “Aunty Nervine, you gave me the world & made me feel like the world was mines”
3. “Fudd my son, I didn’t want to bother you with my problems, just help “Denise” out with your sisters and brother”.

On September 21st, 2019. Our beloved Eugene was called home with the Angels of Heaven and is joined with his beloved mother Elnora Buchanan. Brothers: Darnell (Pint), Michael (Baldy), Raynard (Slick), sister Dina (Dee-Da, and aunty Muriel.

He leaves to cherish: His loving and devoted wife Denise Knox; Father Eugene Bearden; Step-father Lional (papa Lonnie) children-Uniquer, Velvet, Willa May, Eugene (Fudd), Chris, Diane, Demira, Denora, and Eugene. 2 sisters-Janice (Eugene), Linda (Cornell), 3 brothers Lamont (mon-teest), Reginald (Reggie), and Marcellus. 2 Uncles Raymond Bearden and Wallace May Jr., 2 Aunts Beatrice (Pee-Wee), and Nervine. A host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other love ones. Eugene will be truly missed and his memory will live in all of our heart forever.
