Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Joshua Adam Germain, age 36, of Ames, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at his home.

Friends may call from 4-7:00 P.M. on Monday, October 21, 2019 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 2210 Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa 50014, where there will be a Vigil Service held at 7:00 P.M. A private, family funeral service will be held, and burial will be in the Ames Municipal Cemetery at a later date.

Born on March 16, 1983 in Iowa City, Josh was the son of John Germain and Misty (Stokka) Krueger. He grew up in the communities of Ames, Boone, Colo, and Pilot Mound, and graduated from Ogden High School in 2001. Josh then attended AIB in Des Moines, and later studied heavy equipment operation at ATS. He worked for his brothers at Elite Construction. Josh was also a crane operator and was a proud member of IUOE Local #234. He was a very dependable employee.

When not at work, Josh enjoyed sports of all kinds. He seemed to know everything about every sport, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes. While in high school, Josh played football and was on the golf team. He enjoyed flying his drone and recording the motorcycle ride for “Sleeping Angels Foundation”.

Josh was one to feel everything very intensely and he had a huge heart. He loved children, as well as, having conversations with his grandparent’s friends. Josh was a great uncle to his niece and nephews. He will be missed by his many friends and family.

Josh is survived by his parents: Misty (Charles) Krueger of Ames and John Germain of Wasilla, Alaska; his siblings: Ryan (Beth) Germain and their children, Coldon and Logan Lou of Boone, and Joe (Kelsey) Germain and their daughter Chloey of Polk City; his grandmother, Ann Stokka of Ames; his grandfather, Virgil Krueger of Ogden; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Robert Stokka, Conrad Germain, Margaret Sandrock, and Arlys Krueger; and a cousin, Justin Backous.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Adams Funeral Home and online condolences may be left for Josh’s family at www.adamssoderstrum.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
