From Nevada Representative February 16, 1920 (page 1)

Patrick Ford

Patrick Ford, whose age was about 82 years, died Thursday evening from wounds caused by fire. He was fond of smoking his pipe and it was thought his clothes caught from the match he lighted his pipe with, of from the burning tobacco dropping on them. The old gentleman had been infirm for years and was cared for by his daughter, Miss Agnes Ford. It was in her absence that the tragedy took place. Neighbors saw the flames and rushed over. The burning clothing was torn from him and doctors were called who used the best endeavors to save the suffer's life, but in vain. The body was too much burned.

Mr. Ford was born in Ireland, but was a resident of this county for over forty years. His wife is dead two years. Besides the daughter, Agnes, Mr. Ford is survived by his sons, Charles of near Nevada, John of Colorado, William of Nebraska and Frank of Chicago, also another daughter, Mrs. Anna Maher of Chicago. He has a sister living in New York. The sorely bereaved family and sincere sympathy of this entire community. He ha lived past the full alloted span, an honorable life on the farm, a real producer and benefactor to mankind.

The funeral services were held in St. Patrick's church Saturday forenoon, the pastor of deceased, Rev. Father Nichols, officiating in high requiem mass. Many friends were present with the stricken relatives, bearing the testimony to the high esteem in which they held Mr. Ford. The interment was in the Catholic cemetery of our city.
