Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Katelyne Sofia Winkler Pratt, age 27, of Nevada, passed away on August 6, 2019 at her home in Nevada.

Born on April 9, 1992 in Ames, Katelyne was the daughter of Karl Winkler and Carlotta “Dee” (Glenn) Winkler. She graduated from Nevada High School in 2010. Following high school, Katelyne worked as a CNA at area nursing homes. She especially enjoyed the relationships she made at Rolling Greens Nursing Home in Nevada. Katelyne most recently was a loving stay-at-home mom. She was a nurturer, caring for people and animals. She loved her dog, Jackson, who was her companion. Katelyne was known to rescue and care for stray animals. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, watching the wildlife, camping, and “swamping” with her brother. While growing up, her family did not have air conditioning, so many summer nights were spent swimming at the Peterson Pits. One of her favorite events each year was watching the Fourth of July Parade. Katelyne especially loved spending time with her family on Christmas and Easter.

Katelyne is survived by her parents, Karl Winkler of Nevada and Dee Winkler (Thomas Taylor) of Ames; her daughter, Mariah Pratt, stepchildren, Arianna Pratt and Damon Pratt and their father, James Pratt; her brother, John (Christina) Winkler and their children: Skyler, Damion, and Lennon of Ames; grandparents: Jack Winkler (Gerri Bugg) of Ames, Ingamaj Knutsson of Salado, TX, and Dixie Law of Ogden; great-grandmother, Marjorie Darrow; and many aunts, uncles and extended relatives. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents and great-uncle, Alan Abbott who also passed away on August 8, 2019.

Friends may call from 5-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the Adams Funeral Home in Ames. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 16, 2019 at the Adams Funeral Home, followed by a reception and time of fellowship at St. John’s by the Campus Episcopal Church.
