Jeffrey Lane Peterson died on Aug. 16, 2019. At the time of his passing he lived in Nevada, Iowa.

The son of William E. and Donna G. (Carlson) Peterson, Jeff was born in Ames on Aug. 23, 1949. He graduated from Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa in 1968.

After graduation he enlisted in the US Army and served in Viet Nam. After the Army, Jeff received an Associate of Arts degree from Solano Community College in Fairfield, CA.

Jeff returned to Iowa, where he married Marianne Lipovac in Des Moines, in 1986. He spent his career working for 3M in Ames.

Jeff had a good sense of humor, and was a beloved brother, uncle and friend. He was an enthusiastic sports fan, in particular an avid follower of Iowa State University athletic teams.

Jeff was preceded in death by his wife and parents. He is survived by his brother Terry W. Peterson and his wife Joyce (Lee) Peterson; his sister Tommy G. Peterson and her husband Jan Matlis; his brother Gregg Peterson and his wife Kelly (Fee) Peterson. Jeff is also survived by niece Janet (Peterson) Rodrigues and he husband Brent Rodrigues; nephew William E. Peterson and his wife Amy (Torres) Peterson; niece Corinna Matlis and her husband Maxim Polyakov, and; niece Kelsey (Peterson) Hovey and her husband Nathan Hovey. He is also survived by two grandnieces and three grandnephews.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Jeff's name to any Veteran's Cemetery.
