Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Marilyn Joyce Larson of Ames passed away August 15, 2019 at Accura Health Care. Her wishes were to be cremated and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Marilyn was born July 24, 1931 to Glen and Dorothy (Burdick) Bowers. During her teenage years Marilyn's love was to travel and perform in the circus throughout the summers with her sister. After graduating from high school she married Max L. Larson of Ames on August 16,1950; together they had two children; Dennis (Pam) Larson, of Ankeny, and Bridget (Carl) McCarley, of Ames. Marilyn worked as the kitchen manager for the Ames Community School for 28 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family which she cared for deeply.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Dorothy. Those left to cherish her memory include her two children and their spouses, grandchildren; Amy Pagliai of Ankeny, Brian (Laura) Larson of Des Moines, Matthew McCarley of Portland, Oregon and Lyndsey (Jerry) Garcia of Ames. Marilyn was also blessed with (5) great grandchildren.
