Funeral Services Held At Story City For Paul P. Flogstad
ROLAND -- Funeral services were held at the Sunset Home at Story City Saturday afternoon for the late Paul P. Flogstad who passed away Thursday morning from old age and complications.
His pastor the Rev. Olaf Holen of Roland had charge of the services and burial was made in the Roland cemetery.
The pallbearers were N. B. Nelson, Sam Nelson, Chris Risdal, J. A. Mein, Silas Strum and Herman Olson.
Obituary
Paul Flogstad, age 94 years, was born at Saude, Norway, on January 8, 1860. He came to America at the age of twenty years. He was married to Jennie Daniels on October 11, 1893. They lived on their farm southwest of Roland for many years, later moving to town.
Mrs. Flogstad passed away in January, 1936. Later he went to his home with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Rasmussen at Wauwatosa, Wis. Four and a half years ago he entered the Sunset Home at Story City.
He is survived by two daughters Mrs. E. J. Rasmussen of Wauwatosa, Wis., and Miss Ida Flogstad, teacher in the Teachers college at Ann Arbor, Mich., and one sister, Mrs. John Langland of Des Moines, three granddaughters, four great grandchildren.
Those from a distance were from Ames, Des Moines and Bode.
