Mrs. John E. Fausch Passed Away Sunday Afternoon

Mrs. John E. Fausch, 1226 Curtis avenue, Ames, passed away at 1:15 Sunday afternoon at the Mary Greeley hospital. The cause of death was arthritis and complications. She has been ill since Sunday, Sept. 16.

Born Nov. 23, 1883, at Carlyle, Ia., she was 62 years of age. She had come to Story county in the fall of 1902, her father being Rev. G. O. Porter, pastor of the United Brethren church in Ames who later moved to Scranton.

After her marriage to J. E. Fausch, March 14, 1907 at Jewell, Ia., they farmed on the Fausch farm south of Ames until 1910. They moved to Winnebago, Minn., where they moved to Sheldahl and to near Nevada in 1928 where they lived until 1944.

She belonged to the REK club, the WSCS of the Methodist church and was a member of the Methodist church.

Funeral services will be at the Adams Chapel in Ames Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. R. C. Walker of the Ames Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in the Story County Memory Garden cemetery south of Ames.

She is survived by her husband, J. E. Fausch, and three sons, Dr. R. L. Fausch of Ames, Dwight R. of Slater, Herbert D. of Kelley; four daughters, Mrs. Esther Springer of Plainview, Minn., Mrs. Mary Egland of Colo, Mrs. Annabelle Place of Emmetsburg, Mrs. Mable Thornton of Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. C. D. Fausch of Faribault, Minn., Mrs. Frank Marchant of Scranton, three brothers, Melvin Porter of Jewell, Lawson Porter of Clear Lake, and George Porter of Indianola, and 17 grandchildren. One son, Calvin Fausch of Nevada, died in 1943.
