Beal Funeral Was Held on Sunday

Funeral services for James Beal, who died at his home here Friday, were held at the Methodist Episcopal church Sunday afternoon, after which interment was in the Colo cemetery.

"James Blain Beal was born in the state of Illinois, August 2, 1884, and passed away at his home in Nevada on Friday, October 5, 1934, age 50 years, 2 months and 3 days. He was the eldest son of Herman and Missouri Beal, who raised a family of eight children, 6 girls and 2 boys. One of the boys passed away in infancy.

The mother passed away in the year of 1925, the aged father and the sisters and one brother are left to mourn the passing of their son and brother. They are Mrs. Edith Buffington, Mrs. Maude Hostettler, Mrs. Hilma Myers, all of Colo; Mrs. Mabel Ballard of Maxwell; Mrs. Alice Webb of Alta Vista; Mrs. Dollie Miser of Wisconsin, and Mr. Frank Beal of Mason City. When a youngster James came to Iowa with his parents and has made Story county his home. He was married to Miss Carrie Myers at Marshalltown, on May 8, 1909. To this union were born 10 children. One son, Marion Lee passed away in infancy. The children are Lafayette, Harold, Jimmie, Hazel, Alice, Harry, Howard, Zelma and Herman, who are all home except one daughter, Alice Dunahoo, who lives near Colo. There is also one granddaughtr, Norma Jean. James Beal was an industrious farmer, a good neighbor, loved and was loved by his family. He was always kind and considerate, thinking of their joys first. He had been in poor health for the past year. He moved to Nevada the first of March, 1934, the latter part of March was baptized by Rev. Lawton and accepted Christ as his personal Saviour.

Among those from out of town in addition to the relatives named, who attended the service Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Anderson from Madrid, Ia., Mrs. Della Womack of Alta Vista.
