Lifelong Resident of Gilbert Dies Late Monday

Gilbert, Aug. 27 -- O. L. Olson, 76, life-long resident of this community, died at his home near here late Monday, after an illness of several months. He had been confined to his bed since February.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p. m. at the Lutheran church in Ames, after which the body ill be interred in the South St. Petri cemetery north of Gilbert.

Mr. Olson a native of Norway came to America with his parents when a babe of but a year and his entire life had been spent in this community. Death came on his farm just north of town.

He leaves besides his wife, a son Julius Olson of Gilbert, and daughters Elizabeth at home, Mrs. George Shepard of Gilbert, Mrs. Roy Fausch of Slater and Miss Laurine Olson of Nevada, besides seven grandchildren.
