TWO PIONEERS ARE DEAD AT COLLINS

Mrs. Hannah Carver and William McCleese Pass Away at Their Homes

Special to the Journal.
COLLINS, Jan. 9.--This community was shocked yesterday afternoon when it was learned that Mrs. Hannah Carver, an age an respected lady of this place had passed away at two o'clock in the afternoon after an illness of several days. Although it was known that Mrs. Carver was a very sick woman it was hardly expected that she was in dangerous condition. Her two daughters had arrived from Wisconsin the day before to by her bedside, the balance of the children living in Collins.

Besides the two oldest daughters who live in Wisconsin, there are two sons and two daughtrs. The sons are Charles and Perry Carver and the daughters are Mrs. Charles Campbell and Mrs. Etta Patterson. She was making her home with her youngest son, Perry, who is not married. The deceased was about 68 years of age and had lived in Collins for many years. She was a member of the Christian church and the funeral will doubtless take place from there tomorrow, the services being conducted by Rev. Roberts of Maxwell.
-----

William McCleese, an old time resident of this county, died at his home in Collins Sunday morning after an illness of some time. he had reached the the age of 68 years. He leaves a wife and three daughters. His funeral sermon was preached at the M. E. church Monday at 2 p. m., by Rev. C. e. Burton assisted by Rev. Jackson Giddens. A large concourse of relatives were present at the funeral to pay their last tribute of respect to one which was near and dear to them.
