SUDDEN DEATH OF MRS. RASMUSSON

ELDER DAUGHTER OF V. W. JUDD DIED HERE LAST NIGHT

Mrs. J. C. Rasmusson, 58, died at the home of her father, V. W. Judd, 803 Ninth street, Nevada, Tuesday night at 10:10, of an acute heart attack following other complications.

The very sudden and unexpected death of Mrs. Rasmusson came as a profound shock to the community as there was no knowledge of her condition being in any way serious.

Mr. and Mrs. Rasmusson had been called here from Spencer a few weeks ago when her father was seriously injured in a fall and she had remained her the greater share of the time since.

She was taken ill on Saturday but her condition was not considered serious until late Tuesday afternoon and her passing was very unexpected.

The father, V. W. Judd, was at Iowa sanitarium and upon being advised of the death of his elder daughter by Mr. Rasmusson this morning, bore up under the strain as well as might have been expected.

The body, accompanied by Mr. Rasmusson the sister, Mrs. Bess Montgomery and family and friends, will be taken to Spencer on Friday morning and the funeral services will be held at the Methodist Episcopal church the body will be returned to Nevada and the burial will be in the family lot in the Nevada cemetery at sunset on Friday.

The husband was here during her brief illness and at the time of her death and the sister will be out from Chicago this evening.

Ida Judd was born near Mansfield, Illinois, October 3, 1877, elder daughter of V. W. and Mary Judd. She came with the family to Nevada in February, 1895 and for several years the home was on a farm just west of Nevada.

Later the family moved into Nevada and here she attended school and later spent two years at the State Teachers' college at Cedar Falls. She taught school in and around Nevada for a number of years and also taught at Spencer, where she met her husband.

She was united in marriage to J. C. Rasmusson, a merchant of Spencer, June 30, 1909. The marriage was at the Judd home in Nevada and their home had since been in Spencer, where she had been active in church and social affairs.

During these years, however, she had kept close contact with her circle of friends through her frequent visits at the home of her parents.

The mother passed away on November 2, five years ago. The father had retained the family home and enjoyed frequent visits from his daughters and members of their families.

She leaves besides her husband, her aged father, now in his 83d year, and a sister, Mrs. Bess Judd-Montgomery of Chicago.

The one brother, John O. Judd, a Spanish-American War veteran, died in California on December 31, 1912. The body was brought back to Nevada and lies in the family lot in the Nevada cemetery.

The husband, the aged father and the sister will receive the profound sympathy of a wide circle of friends in Nevada, over the sad passing of Mrs. Rasmusson, a woman loved and very highly respected for her many splendid characteristics.
