Kathleen Lynn Craig, 69, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019.
Kathy was born February 26, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa to Edward and Mary Lou (Robbins) Craig. Kathy grew up in Des Moines, graduating from Des Moines Technical High School in 1968. Following graduation she went on to be somewhat of a career college student, attending Pillsbury Baptist College in Minnesota, and then on to Iowa State University to obtain her Bachelor Degree in Women Studies. Kathy loved to learn, she was a huge history buff, loved spirituality and music. Following her education, Kathy enlisted in the Army, serving in Germany. Kathy found her home in Ames for the last 30 years.
Kathy had a love for animals, there was always a cat by her side. She enjoyed writing and spending her time outdoors, enjoying all that nature has to offer, especially bunnies. She enjoyed collecting angels and displaying them throughout her home. Kathy was a Heart Transplant recipient in 1997.
Kathy is survived by her sister; Lynann (Randy) Blackman-Weltzheimer of Ankeny, nephews; Jason Blackman of Ames, Randy (Kathryn) Weltzheimer II of Ankeny, niece; Katie Weltzheimer of Ankeny and many other beloved family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Edward Craig and Mary Lou Blackman of Ames, sister; Marsha Craig of Des Moines, and great-niece; Charity Fazio.
