DEATHS
GERTRUDE LILLIAN SWENSON
Gertrude Lillian Swenson, 90, of Nevada, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 1988, at Long Term Care, Story County Hospital, Nevada IA.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Nevada. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Nevada.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, 5th St. and Lincoln Hwy., Nevada. A wake service was held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born March 11, 1898, in Madison IN to Mathias Ackerman and Magdalena Yunker.
She was a lifelong resident of the Nevada area. She was married to Keneal Swenson in March 2, 1921, at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Ames IA.
Mrs. Swenson was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Nevada and St. Patrick's Guild.
Suvivors include two children, a daughter, Maxine Cooper of Nevada, and a son, Keneal Swenson of Lubbock TX; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; six sisters, four brothers, and a daughter, Berneal McKim of Nevada.
A memorial has been established for St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
