STORY CITY.

Frank Wier committed suicide by shooting himself in the right temple last Saturday morning at his home in Carroll, Iowa. He had been sick for a few days and had not been out on his train as brakeman between Carroll and Sioux City. His wife and children were visiting a sick mother near Tama City and had been away about two weeks. No cause is known, as the family affairs were pleasant so far as was known. He was somewhat in debt however. He leaves a wife, two children and a brother and sister*. His brother Samson and wife, Charles Charlson and Capt. Wier went from here to attend the funeral Tuesday at Carroll. Mrs. Frank Wier is a sister of George and John Hartsell who formerly lived here.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: The brother and sister were Sampson Wier and Virginia (Wier) Rasmussen, wife of Daniel Rasmussen.
