Funeral Services For Mrs. Law At Maxwell
Maxwell, April 10--Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Law, 74, wife of M. A. Law, were held Wednesday morning, at 9:30 at Coopers funeral chapel, with Rev. R. G. W. Collins in charge.
Pallbearers were Dale Scott, E. R. Bell, Willis Harris, R. B. Bullard, Frank Nickodemus, and Douglas Davis. Mrs. Kenneth Tomlinson and Mrs. R. G. W. Collins sang "Beautiful Isle" and "Sweetly Resting" with Mrs. Ned Pearson at the organ. Flower tokens were very beautiful. Burial was made in the Maxwell cemetery.
Preceding the sermon, Rev. Collins read the following brief life sketch:
Jennie L. Pierce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Pierce, was born October 14, 1869, near Fort Dodge, Iowa, and passed from this life at the home of her son, Virgil, in Maxwell, April 5, 1943.
On June 16, 1890 she was married Matthew A. Law at Pomeroy, Iowa, and to this union six children were born.
Mrs. Law has been a devout Christian throughout life. She became a member of the church at an early age and was always active in church work as log as her health would permit.
Mr. and Mrs. Law moved to Maxwell in December of 1942 coming from a farm near Numa.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, Matthew A. Law of Maxwell, six children, Mrs. Luella Mardick of Maxwell, DeWitt Law of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Eloise Lois Lawton of Modesta, California, Mrs. Caroline C. Black of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Theodore R. Law of Angola, Indiana and Virgil Law of Maxwell; one foster son, Edward A. Law of Fort Dodge, Iowa, sixteen grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
