Iowa Centre.
"Time and tide wait for no man." Since writing last another death has occurred in our midst, another old pioneer is gone. Uncle Johnny Brown, as he was always called, came to Iowa from Ohio in 1854, living one year in Ottumwa, and in 1855 he moved to Story county where he has since lived, in or near Iowa Centre. His wife died about five years ago, since when he has been living among his children making his home at his grand-daughter's, Mrs. Dan Benethum's, where he died on the 17th of this month after an illness of two and a half days. He was conscious until almost the last moment and the end was peace. Had he lived until next January he would have been 80 years old. Mr. Ferguson preached the sermon, Bro. Force assisting in the services....
