Melissa Lee Moffett, 41, of Boone died June 1, 2019 at Bethany Life in Story City. Memorial services will be held Friday June 7 at 11 am at Bethany Manor Chapel in Story City.

Melissa was born on July 31, 1977 in Forest Lake, Minnesota to LeRoy K. and Diane (Allred) Moffett. She was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy at the age of 5, but she still kept as active as she could. Melissa graduated from Boone High School and from Iowa State University with a degree in Mass Communications. She enjoyed music, writing, her dog, camping, traveling and just being outdoors.

She is survived by her parents, LeRoy and Diane Moffett of Boone; two sisters, Lisa Ann (John) Pfeffer of Mapleton, MN and Denise Kay (David) Lenhart of Ankeny; two nieces, Taylor Lenhart and Olivia Pfeffer and her grandmother, Donna Allred of Woodbury, MN.

Melissa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mamie Moffett and Evan Allred.
