Judith “Judy” Ann Blades (a.k.a. Granny), 75, of Cambridge, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019, at MercyOne in Des Moines.

Judy was born October 2, 1943, in Evansville, IN, the daughter of Delmar and Nellie Bell (Frederick) Lindsey. On April 24, 1960, she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Ray Blades in Evansville, IN. Together they owned Bob and Judy’s Café in Cambridge for four years and Judy worked 13 years for the Huxley Cleaners.

Judy was a member of the Cambridge United Methodist Church in Cambridge. She enjoyed cooking and baking and playing games on the computer.

Judy is survived by her husband, Bob of Cambridge; her daughters: Ferresa (Randy) Kibbee of Mason City, Olygie Blades of Johnston and Silla Blades of Johnston; her sister, Olygie Winters of Illinois; her grandchildren: Ashley (Diz) Culp, Kyle (Pam) Culp, Tyler (Taylor) Kibbee and Camie (Zach) Thornblade; her great-grandchildren: Reagen Miller, Aubrie Culp, Natalie Culp, Rylon Kibbee and Addison Culp. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jubo-Lee Ray Blades; two brothers and two sisters.

Judy has been cremated and a celebration of her life will be Sunday, May 26 from 1-5 p.m. at the Cambridge United Methodist Church (215 2nd Street) in Cambridge. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cambridge United Methodist Church and designated for the Camp Fund.
