From Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home & Crematory obituary, Nevada and Maxwell, Story County, Iowa:
Mary Madonna (Green) Meyers, 54, of Maxwell, Iowa lost her battle with COPD on May 11th, 2019 at State Center Care Initiatives. Mary was born on November 21st, 1964 in Houma, LA. Raised in Cambridge, IA by Gary and Dixie Green, she attended Ballard High School, where she was a cheerleader. She was united in holy matrimony to James Meyers on October 23, 1993, at the Peoria United Methodist Church.
Her Grandmother Mildred Green was one of the most influential people in her life. Teaching her how to cook and care for her children. Mary often told stories about her life lessons from Grandma Mildred and took care of her until her passing in 1995. She had a passion for cooking that she loved sharing with everyone. Her sassy attitude will never be forgotten. Mary would often tell people she didn’t come with a filter. Together James and her raised 4 children, and hundreds of animals from birds, ducks, pigs, tarantula and dogs.
Mary is survived by her husband of 25 years, James Meyers of Maxwell; children: Johnny Albaugh, Eric Albaugh (Rebecca Phillips), Danyell Anderson (James Holsinger), Lacy Meyers (Adam Lang); eight grandchildren; stepmother Dixie Hein; siblings Ann Green, Bob Green, Loren Hunter, Kimberly Larson (Brian Larson) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Gary Green; biological mother Susan Hungate; stepfather Carlos Hein; and grandmother Mildred Green.
