Howard Franklin Kilburn, of Cambridge, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019, at his home in Cambridge.
Visitation will be at 4:00 p.m. and a funeral service at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 9th, 2019, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. Burial will be at a later date at Palestine Cemetery near Huxley.
A well-known Ballard Photographer, Howard Kilburn born February 16,1934 passed away peacefully. Howard was born in Springfield MO, the son of Jeff and Orebell (Grimes) Kilburn. He graduated from high school in Kearney, California and united in marriage to Josephine Pearey. Howard worked for John Deere in Ankeny and was proud to call himself a “Working Man”. He retired after working 31 fulfilling years. Many often referred to Howard as the “Camera-man.” Howard Made over 100,000 pictures for people in his community. He was awarded the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Top Community Service Award in 1997. Above all else in life he loved spending time with his family especially his beloved, grandchildren.
Howard is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Lee) Myers; Margaret “Peggy” Echaves; Son in Law, Clifford Henry; his four grandchildren: Noah Myers, Jenna Smyth, Michelle Myers, Matthew Myers; and his best friend “daughter” Angel (Tammy) Smyth. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his daughter, Jacqueline Henry; four brothers and two sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family of Howard.
Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
