Sarah Louise Wassmuth
July 17, 1967 - May 2, 2019

Sarah Louise Wassmuth, age 51, of Indianapolis, IN, and formerly of Ames, passed away at Traditions at North Willow in Indianapolis.

Sarah was born in Iowa City, Iowa and grew up in Sioux City and Ames, Iowa. She was a 1985 graduate of Ames High School. She attended Purdue University, where she earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree in 1992.

Sarah lived and practiced pharmacy in Indianapolis after graduation, working for Osco Drug Stores and PRN Pharmaceutical Services.

Sarah delighted in her role as aunt and enjoyed spoiling her nieces and nephews with outlandish gifts. She was a great conversationalist, a formidable opponent at the poker table, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Sarah loved those around her and remembered the names of almost everyone she met. She was known for her generosity and for her sharp wit. She loved family gatherings, watching old movies and listening to historical fiction.

Sarah is survived by her mother, Sandra (Roger) Gade, sisters Elizabeth (Patrick) Ernst, Laura Wassmuth (Christian Kingsbury) and Dana Clausius (Lee Jackson) and brother Paul (Rachael) Clausius, nieces Erica Ernst, Megan Ernst, Ellie Clausius and nephews Owen Kingsbury, Andrew Kingsbury, and Quinten Jackson. She was preceded in death by her father, Dale (Carol) Wassmuth.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Ames, IA. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.
