FATAL ACCIDENT.--Yesterday afternoon two of our citizens met with an accident which proved instantly fatal to one and leaves the other with but little hope of life. Mr. B. F. Chancy and Lemuel Daniels were employed on the section of the railroad between this place and Colo. They, in the company with several other workmen, were returning by the handcar, and to ease their labors, caught by the rear car of the freight train. A sudden jerk threw both from the car, which passed over their bodies, killing Mr. Chancy instantly and leaving Mr. Daniels as stated. Others of the party were injured, but none seriously. The funeral of the deceased takes place to-day with the ceremonies of the Odd Fellows, of which society he was a member. Both were insured in the Western Accident Company of Des Moiens for $1000 each. The deceased leaves a wife and one child--a girl of ten. The family of Mr. Daniels consists of a wife and two or three small children.
