Funeral Rites for Frank Hobbs Held Here Today
Funeral rites were held this afternoon at 1:30 at the Morfoot Funeral Home for Frank L. Hobbs, 57, of 1733 North Fourth street, Nevada who died at his home here Wednesday night, following an attack of the flu and other complications.
The service was in charge of Rev. O. E. Cooley of the Nevada Methodist church. The songs were by Mrs. Betty Case, accompanied by Mrs. Dobson at the organ.
The body was taken to Albion, in Marshall county, the old family home, for interment in the family lot in the cemetery there.
"Frank Letts Hobbs, son of Perry and Belle Hobbs, was born at Albion, Iowa on May 13, 1885. He passed away at his home in Nevada on January 5, 1944.
"His early life was spent in Albion, later he lived in Marshalltown where he worked at the barber trade. Later he lived at Sheffield, and still later at Maxwell. About two years ago he located on a farm near Nevada and one year ago he moved to the town of Nevada, where he has been employed by the Nevada Poultry Company.
"His death resulted from an illness of a few days although he was not critically ill until very shortly before his death.
"On Dec. 25, 1909 he was married to Miss Ethel Olena Melick. To this union two sons were born, Walter R., now serving in the U. S. Army and located somewhere in the Aleutians, and F. R., Jr., at home.
"Besides his wife and two sons, Mr. Hobbs also leaves one brother, John W. of Clarksville, Iowa."
