McKibben Funeral Rites Here Saturday; Burial at Adel

Funeral rites for W. A. McKibben, 85, who died suddenly in his apartment at the John Bowles home, 211 Eighth street, early Thursday, will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist church here Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, after which the body will be taken to Adel for burial.

The services will be in charge of his old friends, Elder A. L. Miller.

Mr. McKibben, long connected with the Iowa and other Seventh day conferences as a minister of that denomination, had lived in Nevada for many years, following his active retirement from the ministry.

He and Mrs. McKibben came to Nevada to be with the latter's mother, Mrs. J. W. Pines, following the death of the father and their home had since been at 502 S avenue.

They had closed that home and taken an apartment in the Bowles home but a few days before the passing of Mr. McKibben.

He leaves besides his second wife, who before her marriage was Dora Pines, one daughter Janet, now Mrs. Don Jacob of Winslow, Arizona. Mrs. Jacobs was here for some time during a recent illness of the father but had returned home after his apparent recovery and will not be back for the funeral services.

In addition to the widow and daughter he leaves an adopted son, John McKibben, Des Moines, as well as other relatives.

During his work in Iowa they lived at Sioux City, Mason City, Council Bluffs and Davenport, before coming to Nevada.

The McKibben family home had been at Adel and the boy will be taken to that place for interment in the family lot in the Adel cemetery.
