OBITUARY

Mrs. Anna S. Pizer

Mrs. Anna Stride Pizer, was born in Harestock, England*, January 17, 1838. She was married to Mr. James Pizer, March 3, 1858. Ten children were born to them, four of whom died in infancy. In the month of March 1871 she, with her husband and four small children, emigrated to America and settled in Black Hawk county, Iowa, where they resided until the year 1876 when they came to Story county, Iowa and made Iowa Center their final home. In October last she went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Alice Henry, in St. James, Minnesota, and there she died June 4, 1911, a the age of 73 years, 4 months and 14 days.

Her remains were shipped to Iowa Center, where her funeral was held last week Wednesday, in the United Evangelical church conducted by Rev. S. Skogsberg, after which they were laid to rest by the side of her husband's in the Iowa Center cemetery. She leaves to mourn, her children, James E. of Salisbury, England; Edward W. and Mrs. Alice Henry of St. James, Minnesota; Herbert, of Mitchell, Nebraska; Mrs. Rosa Mathews and Mrs. Ida Halterman of Iowa Center, Iowa; a number of grand-children and many friends.
