DEATH'S CALL VERY SUDDEN.
Samuel Pizer*, of Iowa Center, Passed Away During Night.

Samuel Pizer*, of Iowa Center, who had been in poor health for a short time suffering from the grippe and a severe cold, died some time during Monday night, May 2. He had been up and around the house on Sunday and ate a hearty supper Sunday evening, but when his aged wife called him Monday morning she found that he had passed away some time during the night.Mr. Pizer was one of the pioneers of this county and was well known in this locality.
Samuel Bridle Pizer* was born in Havestock, England, May 21, 1836, was married to Miss Jne Anna Stride March 3, 1858. To this union was born ten children, six of whom are still living: James E., of Salisbury, England; Edward and Mrs. Alice Henry, of St. James, Minn.; Herbert, of Mitchell, Neb.; Mrs. Rose Mathews and Mrs. Lottie Halterman, of Iowa Center. He came to America with his wife and four children in March 1870, and settled in Black Hawk county, Iowa. Fro there he moved to Iowa Center in 1876 where, with his family he made his home during the remainder of his life, which ended May 2, 1910, at the age of seventy-three years, eleven months and eleven days.
The funeral which was largely attended, was held from the Evangelical church at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Simon Skogsberg, pastor, after which the body was interred in the Iowa Center cemetery.
