Helen A. Christian Dies At Hospital In Ames; Rites Thurs.

Mrs Helen A. Christian of Roland died at 1:30 p.m. on August 2 in the Mary Greeley Hospital In Ames. She was born on a farm near Roland October 23, 1878, the daughter of Hans and Anna Jondahl. She lived on a.farm near Roland.where her husband died in 1956. [Transcriber note: contrary to this statement, Helen and John had lived in the town of Roland since 1938.]

Surviving are six daughters and two sons: Mrs. June Lock, Mrs. Frances Holen and Mrs. Olive Borwlck, all of Roland; Mrs. Arlet Smith, State Center; Mrs. Cleo Cecil, Gardenia, Calif.; Mrs. Ruby Freeman of Los Angeles, Calif.; Hansell and Marlon Christian both of Colo; fifteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Services wjll be Thursday, Aug. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Salem Lutheran Church in Roland with the Rev. Perry Heller of McCallsburg, Bethany Lutheran Church, in charge. Burial will be in the Roland Cemetery.

Soderstrom Funeral Home in Roland is in charge of arrangements and friends may call there until time of service.
