OBITUARY L. T. WILLIAMS

Has Lived In County for Over Half Century

The funeral services of Lewis T. Williams were conducted from Central Presbyterian church. Sunday afternoon, Nov. 28. Mr. Williams had reached the age of 81 years, had been sick for some weeks at the home of his son, Walter Williams, and passed away Thursday afternoon, Nov. 25. Rev. J. George Walz was in charge of the funeral services. Interment was in Nevada cemetery.

Lewis T. Williams son of Mr. and Mrs. John Williams, was born in Canada, January 3, 1846. He departed this life November 25, 1926, having reached the age of 80 years, 10 months and 2 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Julia M. Barnes, July 23, 1867, to which union seven children were born, five sons and two daughters. John died in infancy, and Mary, Mrs. Smith, died about three years ago, Walter I., Mrs. Ella Steward lived at Adaza, Iowa, while James L., Charles P. and George A. live in Nevada. There are seventeen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Mrs. Williams died March 28, 1899 and Mr. Williams again married, taking to himself Susan Louvina Jones, together residing on a farm east of Nevada, and later residing in Nevada, where they lived until the time of Mrs. Williams' death about six years ago, when again his home was broken up and he went to live with his son James and later with Walter, where he remained until the time of his death, the family ministering to his needs kindly and tenderly. Mr. Williams is the last member of his family to pass on to the eternal rewards.

Mr. Williams became a Christian in early life and united with the Methodist Episcopal church and later in life with the Cumberland Presbyterian church southeast of Nevada, and after this organization disbanded he transferred his membership to the Evangelical church and continued his fellowship with them until the time of his death. Mr. Williams was afflicted for more than six years, and was confined to his room and bed fro about six weeks, the last week not being able to get up from his bed. In one of his hardest attacks during the last week of his suffering he found comfort in repeating the 23rd Psalm which has become the comforting stay of so many of God's people.

With the sorrowing family there are many friends, neighbors and acquaintances who mourn the loss of this man, and we pray comfort upon the bereaved family.
