Obituary

Peter A. Donaldson was born in Philo, Illinois, December 14, 1877, a son of Joseph and Elizabeth Donaldson.

A retired farmer, he had been a resident of Story County for the past 30 years, living all of that time, but about two years, on the one farm five and a half miles north of Nevada. In February, of this year with his sister, Miss Sadie Donaldson, who had been in charge of his home sine the death of his wife a number of years ago, he moved into Nevada, purchasing a home on North Q avenue.

Mr. Donaldson was married to Viola Birdzell at Urbana, Ill. June, 1905. To this union were born two sons, Philip and Paul and one daughter, Virginia, all of whom, with the wife, had preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mrs. Anna Buhs, whose death preceded his own by one week, by a sister, Brigid, and by one brother, the late Joseph Donaldson of Nevada whose death occurred several years ago.

He is survived by four sisters: Miss Sadie Donaldson of Nevada, Mrs. Margaret Sandwell of Philo, Ill. and Mrs. Elizabeth Mineart of East Pleasant Plane, Iowa and Miss Helen Donaldson of Urbana, Illinois.

Two rosary services were held at the Ryan Funeral Home where the body lay in state, one by St. Patricks Congregation on Sunday evening at 8 o'clock, and another on Monday night at 8 p.m. in charge of the Nevada-Colo Knights of Columbus. Father Ryan led both services.
