Mrs. Harry Lathrop died at her home on Main street [in Boone, Iowa], in the Fifth ward just opposite the court house, on Friday morning at 2:00 o'clock. She had been ailing for several months and on the Monday prior to her death she suffered from a stroke of paralysis which left her totally helpless. She gradually grew weaker until death ensued. Mrs. Lathrop nee Miss Delilah Bracken, was born in Indiana, and at the time of her death was about sixty years of age. When a child she removed to Iowa with her parents and lived for years about four miles south of Ames. Thirty-two years, to a day from her death, she was united in marriage to Harry Lathrop. For the past twenty-two years they have resided in this city [Boone, Iowa.] For several years her husband was foreman of the Boone County Democrat. To mourn her death are the sorrowing husband and aged mother, Mrs. Bracken, who for several years has made her home with her daughter. The funeral was held Sunday morning at 9:00 o'clock from her late residence, Rev. J. C. Crawford officiating. A large number of old friends and neighbors were present at the funeral. The remains were taken to Ames on No. 12 at 12:30 o'clock that day and interment in the Walnut Grove cemetery in Story county, beside her deceased father. The husband and mother have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
