GRANT TOWNSHIP FARMER IS DEAD

TOM S. BARBOUR SUFFERED A STROKE OF PARALYSIS WHITE ON THE ROAD

Tom S. Barbour, age about 45 years, died in a hospital at Whittemore, late Tuesday afternoon, from the effects of of a stroke of paralysis suffered Sunday. The body was brought home from Whittemore today and the funeral services will be held at the home, south of the Lincoln Highway, east of Ames.

Mr. and Mrs. Barbour and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lawson had gone up to West Bend to view the Grotto and it was shortly after their start for home that he was afflicted. He was hastened to the hospital at Whittemore and there he passed away Tuesday evening.

Mr. Barbour, a son of one of the pioneer families of northwest Grant township, leaves his wife, Mrs. Mable Child Barbour and one sister, Mrs. A. G. Kingsbury.

He had been badly crippled up with rheumatism for a number of years but had been able to look after his farming interests.
