Former Nevadan Buried Here Today

Last rites were held this Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Ames Funeral Chapel in Ames for Mrs. Emily Darnell, 75, 517 Main street, Ames, who died Saturday at 5:15 p. m. in the Story County Hospital in Nevada were she had been a patient since Oct. 30. Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage.

Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

The deceased was born in Nevada, March 23, 1880. She leaves two brothers, Frank and Ted Childs of Ames and three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Barber, Ames, Mrs. Blanche Perry and Mrs Alice Hewitt, both of California. She was a 50-year member of the Rebekah lodge and was a past Noble Grand.

She was united in marriage first to Frank Arnold in 1905 who died in 1924 and in 1927 was married to George Darnell who died in 1946.

She had lived her entire life in Story county.
