Nevada Woman Dead; Funeral Wednesday

Mrs. Patience Boston, 68, native daughter of Story county, died at the home of her daughter, Mary, Mrs. William Ball, a 1814 Eighth street, Nevada, Monday evening about 6:45 after having been in failing health for several months.

The funeral services will be held at Nevada Church of Christ, of which she was a member, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 with her pastor, Rev. C. V. Pence in charge. The body will be taken to the cemetery at McCallsburg for burial.

Mrs. Boston was born on a farm near McCallsburg, January 28, 1869, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Hendrickson. She grew to womanhood in that neighborhood and there she was married in 1885 to Hugh Emory Boston. They established their home in McCallsburg shortly after their marriage and there the husband died in 1911 and about 22 years ago she moved with her children to Nevada where the family home has since been.

She had for many years, been a member of the Christian church, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Woodman Circle.

She is survived by three daughters and one son. The daughters are Mrs. Mable Sherwood of Lincoln, Neb.; Gladys Olson of Story City and Mary Ball, Nevada, while the son is Ralph Boston of Nevada. Three children are deceased they being Ella, who was Mrs. George Best, Harry who died in infancy and Lewis, who died at the age of 27 years during the flu epidemic in Nevada in 1918.

She also leaves a brother, W. J. Hendrickson of Story City and a sister, Mrs. Ella Boston of McCallsburg (the sisters having married brothers.)

There are also five grandchildren, they being Mrs. Erma Quam of Story City, Emery Olson of Story City, Hugh Sherwood of Lincoln, Russell Ball of Nevada and Geraldine Best of Lansing, Mich. She also leaves a great grandson, Donald Sherwood of Lincoln.

Mrs. Boston had been making her home with Mrs. Ball for some time and had been gradually failing in health, but it was not until of recent weeks that it was realized that her condition had been growing critical.

The daughters, Mrs. Sherwood of Lincoln and Mrs. Olson of Story City, as well as the sister, Mrs. Ella Boston of McCallsburg, had been here since Sunday assisting in her care.

Mrs. Boston was a woman of high character and of many fine characteristics and the wide circle of friends in Nevada and McCallsburg will join with the relatives in mourning her passing.
