Gladys G. Olson Rites Here Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys G. Olson of Nevada were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. W. R. Tuttle of the Nevada Christian church officiating.

Miss Virginia Bierschwal, organist, played a number of selections before and after the service.

The casket bearers were Joe Backhoff, James Backhoff, C. R. McConnell, Robert Ogden, Harry Sherk an Sheridan Sampson.

Burial was in the McCallsburg cemetery.

Obituary

Gladys Goldie Olson was born to Hugh Emery and Patricia Jane Boston on May 30, 1894 and died at the Story City Hospital on May 15, 1959 at the age of 64 years, 11 months and 15 days.

Most of her life, she lived in Story County, either at McCallsburg or Nevada.

On Oct. 12, 1911 she was united in marriage to Nels Olson at McCallsburg, where they made their home. Two children were born to this union, Emery John, who died on Nov. 15, 1947, an Mrs. Erma May Quam, Story City, Iowa.

Gladys Olson united in fellowship with the Christian church in Nevada in 1917. She lived the last few years of her life with her daughter at Story City so was unable to attend services in Nevada.

She had many friends in Nevada, where she had lived most the time and was employed by the Nevada Poultry Company.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one son, two brothers, Harry and Lewis and three sisters, Ella Best, Mary Ball and Mable Sherwood.

She is survived by one daughter Erma May Quam of Story City, one brother Ralph Boston of Nevada, two granddaughters, Elaine Mae Olson and Mary Rosetta Olson, two grandsons, Graigory David Olson and Darrell Eugene Olson. Also three nephews and three nieces, other relatives and many friends.
