OBITUARY.

Death of I. B. Thompson.

Isaac B. Thompson died at his home in this city, Sunday morning, May 28, 1905. Mr. Thompson was born in Lycoming county, Pennsylvania, Sept. 5, 1825; and lacked less than four months of becoming an octogenarian. He was married in the county of his birth to Miss Nancy Welty, Feb. 4, 1850. Removed from Pennsylvania to Illinois in 1857, and from Illinois to Story county, Iowa, in 1888. Since coming to Iowa Mr. and Mrs. Thompson have made their home for the most part in Nevada and have been among our most worthy citizens. Their children number three, James W. Thompson of Grant township, Mrs. Mary J. Starker of Princeton, Illinois, and Mrs. Sarah L. Smith of Parker, S. D. About a year ago Mr. Thompson fell from a tree while picking cherries and sustained injuries which aggravated his demise. His health has been infirm for some years and in rapid decline the past few months. He has suffered much but with commendable patience and fortitude. He was a member of the M. E. church of this city, honored the christian principles he professed, and in his intercourse with his fellow citizens proved himself a man of kindly spirit and strict integrity. His obsequies were held at the home yesterday morning and were conducted by his pastor, Rev. Mr. Nye.
