Obituary from Resthaven Mortuary, Wichita, Kansas.

Will Edward “Edd” Fulton, 86, of Wichita, KS., previously of Ames, IA., passed away on Thursday, February 28 while resting comfortably at his home.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Fulton; son, Russell and wife Peggy (Petefish) of Ames, IA.; daughters, Amy Dilday and husband David of Clearwater, FL, and Carla Heintz and husband Jamie of Wichita, KS.; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brother-in-laws, Carl McKoon, Jerry McKoon and wife Mary Ann, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Edd was born on February 22, 1933 in Jefferson County, IA to Dwight and Belle (Yaley) Fulton. He attended elementary school in a one-room country school. Edd graduated from Fairfield High School in 1951. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany. On March 4, 1956, he married his sweetheart, Dorothy McKoon in Fairfield, IA. Edd worked as a highway designer for the Iowa Department of Transportation from 1960-1998. While living in the Nevada/Ames, Iowa area, he was an award-winning member of the Town & Country Toastmasters, was an assistant Boy Scoutmaster, and was a certified lay speaker for the United Methodist Church serving Mackey United Methodist church for three years as well as other congregations when needed. Edd was a consistent blood donor for Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, IA. achieving the “15 Gallon Club” status. He was also a trained Master Gardener through the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach program. Edd enjoyed traveling with family. Being an avid reader and lover of history, the family often felt as though they had their own personal tour guide during these travels. He enjoyed woodworking, making several pieces of furniture and clocks for himself and family members. He also used his skills as a woodworker to volunteer with The Little Angels Foundation, making caskets for infants. As an avid bicycler Edd completed RAGBRAI many times.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Harold and wife Helen Fulton, sisters Glenna and husband Merwin Fordyce and Fern Fulton; twin infant sons Donald and Daniel; and granddaughter, Hannah Fulton, brother in law Alvin and wife Regina McKoon, sister in laws, Betty (Mrs. Carl) McKoon, Margaret and husband Ernest Nelson. Celebration of Life for Edd will be at 9:00 am Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Central Community Church 6100 W Maple St, Wichita, KS 67209 with a visitation from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Monday March 4, 2019 at Resthaven Mortuary 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
