MRS. NASH, PIONEER DIED AT STORY CITY

HAD LIVED IN STORY COUNTY FOR OVER 75 YEARS; WAS NATIVE OF MAINE

Story City, Feb. 16--Mrs. Rosa Nash, 86, died at her home of her son, Abner Nash, in Story City Sunday afternoon at 2:30, after a lingering illness due to pleuisy and complications incident to old age.

Mrs. Nash had been blind for the past seventeen years but had borne her misfortune with fortitude and patience.

The time for the funeral has not been determined but it is thought that the services will be held Thursday afternoon.

Mrs. Nash, whose maiden name was Rosa Chandler, was a native of Maine, where she was born August 15, 1845. She came to Iowa with her people when a girl eleven years of age. The settled near Cambridge and there she grew to young womanhood and was married to M. D. Nash. They established their home in an early day southeast of Story City and there the husband died April 14, 1912. Following his death she had made her home the most of the time with her children.

She leaves two sons, Abner W. Nash of Story City and William of near Nevada and a daughter Mrs. May Bickelhaupt of near Hollandale, Minnesota.

Two sons Frank and Sidney preceded her in death.
