Obituary from Roller Funeral Home, Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Marilyn Violet Shockley, 93, of Mountain Home passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 at Hospice House. She was born May 29, 1925 in Ames, Iowa to Merrill (Mike) and Myrtle (Kurtz) Griffith.

On December 4, 1942, Marilyn married Dave Shockley and they made their home in Ames. Together, the two were very active in bowling, golf and dancing. They would dance at the Moose, Elks and anywhere they could find music. Mrs. Shockley’s love for life was very evident in everything she did. She loved her Moped; she would ride around Ames and visit all her friends. Marilyn started out as a pink lady for Mary Greely Hospital and worked her way up the ladder. Until 1988 when she retired, she worked in the business office and admissions.
The couple moved to Texas after retirement to spend time with friends and in 1995 to Mountain Home to be close to family. Marilyn was a joy to be around and genuinely loved life. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Mrs. Shockley is survived by her two sons: Mike Shockley (Sue) of Oceanside, CA and Mark Shockley (Lora) of Flippin, AR.; grandchildren: Becky, Leroy, Willie, Brooke, Brian, David, and Chad; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Elaine Arney (Rog) and one brother, Bruce Griffith (Sandy) both of Bella Vista, AR.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave; daughter, Karen; granddaughter, Michelle, parents and two sisters.

A celebration of life will be held at 1pm, Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Roller Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Baxter Memorial Gardens Mausoleum of Love. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks, Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home. Please visit our online guestbook at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/mtnhome.
