Norma Eggers, age 84, died February 12, 2019 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Per her wishes, she has been cremated and a Memorial Service is being planned for Memorial Day weekend.

Norma Jean Eggers was born to Wilbur H. and Mabel (Torry) Lillard on August 12, 1934 in Ames, Iowa. She graduated from Ames High School in 1952. Norma began worked for the Highway Commission (Iowa DOT) from 1952 until 1956. She married Merle Eggers on October 2, 1955. Norma enjoyed bowling, watching Jeopardy and rooting on Iowa State Athletics.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents, husband Merle, brother Chester Lillard, sisters Wilma McCurdy, LaWandaChristian, granddaughter Joelle Peterson and son-in-law, David Hornung. She is survived by her children; Doug (LeAnn) Eggers of Ames, Erin Hornung of Ames, Shawn Eggers of Ames and Kerri (Kevin) Peterson of Ames; three grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas, Jacob; sister, Colleen Larson of Ames and sister-in-law Lucille Lillard of Collins.
