Last Rites Held Monday At Ryans For Mrs. L. Myers

Gertrude Eleanor was born July 18, 196 at Leon, Iowa to Clell and Martha Muse and died Oct. 5, 1961 in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 45 years, 2 months and 17 days. She lived most of her life in and around Nevada, Story County, Iowa.

Gertrude attended the public schools of Nevada, and in 1927 she with others of her family were united into fellowship of the Christian Church.

In October 1933, Gertrude was united in marriage to Lloyd Meyers, at Nevada. To this family were born two sons, Billy and Larry, also two daughters, Charlotte and Shirley Mae.

She was preceded in death by a son Larry and one sister Florence.

She is survived by her husband Lloyd, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Muse of Nevada, also by her children's families, one son, Billy Meyers of Boone, two daughters, Mrs. Bill Calkins of Ames, and Mrs. Don Desher of Boone; one brother, Kenneth Muse of Nevada, two sisters, Mrs. Louise Parks of South Bend, Ind., and Ms. Beulah Tillotson of Nevada; other close relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services

Funeral services for Gertrude Myers were held at the Ryan Funeral Home Monday, Oct. 9 at 2:00 p. m. with the Rev. W. R. Tuttle officiating. Miss Virginia Bierschwal, organist, furnished the music for the service. The casket bearers were Bernard Haynes, Dale Myers, Lester Myers, Eldon Frye, A. P. Otto and J. J. Weatherman.

Burial was in the Story County Home cemetery.
