Holver Twedt is dead at age 60
Holver J. Twedt, 60, 1019 11th Street, Nevada, died Monday afternoon at the Story County Hospital after being admitted a short time earlier.
He had been ill for the past eight months.
Born May 12, 1912 near McCallsburg, he was the son of Hans and Carrie Twedt. He was a retired mechanic and had lived in the county his entire lifetime.
He was married to Bertha French Nov. 13, 1938 at Bethany, Mo.
Mr. Twedt was a member of the Lutheran Church, a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, his mother Carrie Twedt of Story City, one stepson, Wayne Mooers of Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Colleen Allen of Des Moines and Mrs. Wandaleen Schulte of Ames, and eleven grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Victory Johnson of Ankeny, Mrs. Lloyd Erickson of Story City, and Mrs LaVern Thompson of Neosho, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at the Ryan Funeral Home Thursday afternoon at 2 with the Rev. E. P. Windman officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
