Severn H. Swenson formerly of Story City, died Friday

Severn H. Swenson, age 90, formerly of Story City and now of Omaha, died April 23 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. Funeral services will be held from the Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home of Story City, Tuesday, April 27 at 2 p.m. Rev. Daniel Swenson, Faribault, Minn. will officiate with burial in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Born near Ellsworth on Jan. 25, 1886, he was the son of Samuel and Rachel Swenson. He married Cora J. Ellickson on Dec. 22, 1921 and taught in the Omaha school system. He was a veteran of World War I.

He is survived by two brothers, ----- of Norman, Okla., and Rinehart of New York City, N.Y.; one sister, Rebecca Kegly of Cedar Rapids, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother and four sisters.

The body will lie in state at the Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City.
