DEATHS

Oscar Sunnoe

Funeral services for Oscar Sunnoe were held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 13 Pastor C. A. Gisselquist officiated. Mrs. Tim Yantix and Rosemary Larson sant in duets, "I Come To the Garden Alone" and "How Great Thou Art." Mrs. Harold Olson was organist.

Bural was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas Enderson, Donald Millang, Edward Finnestad, Milton Mussehl, Ralph Gruenwald and James Bergeson.

Oscar Richard Sunnoe was born Mar. 11, 1890 in Clear Lake Township, Hamilton County, Iowa to parents John Sunnoe and Elizabeth Satre Sunnoe. He farmed in the Rosendale Community before moving to Story City.

On December 24, 1934 he was united in marriage to Minnie Worrell, who preceded him in death, April 15, 1951. He was employed as a custodian of the Story City Schools, Bethany Manor and Story City Municipal Cemetery before he retired.

He was married to Josephine Clark on June 11, 1956.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine; ten sisters, Mrs. Sig (Selma) Wike of Junction City, Oregon, Mrs. Iver (Sophie) Oland of Rake, Mrs. Embert (Mae) Munsen, Story City, Mrs. Nels (Ruth) Rognehaugh, Bricelyn, Minn., Mrs. Paul (Josephine) Jones, Story City, Mrs. Hawley (Emma) Peterson of Jewell, Mrs. Cyrus (Viola) Hanson, Austin, Minn., Mrs. Orville (Hilma) Paulson, Mrs. Gaylord (Aileen) Johsnson, Mrs. William (Margaret) Larson, all of Story City; and two brothers, Joseph Sunnoe of Story City and Irven Sunnoe of Frost, Minn. Also six stepsons, 22 step grandchildren, 14 step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He left this life two months before his 83rd birthday. He was the first of thirteen children of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Sunnoe.

Mr. Sunnoe passed away at the Story City Memorial Hospital on Saturday morning, March 10, having been admitted the day before.
