Anna Staley dies in Kansas Friday at the age of 79

Mrs. Anna Sorenson Staley, 79, died at Wellington, Kans. Friday morning. She is former resident of the Ames and Nevada community.

Born in Nevada on April 27, 1888, she was the daughter of Marguerite Jenson and John Paulson. She came to Ames in 1921 and lived there until 1940 when she went to California, where she lived for five years and then went to Wichita, Kansas where she managed a hotel, from 1945 to 1955. For the past five years she ha lived in Wellington.

She is survived by her husband, Lee Staley, of Wellington; two sons, Forest J. Sorenson of St. Paul, Minn. and Marion L. Sorenson of Ames and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Folmer Sorenson in 1919; and five brothers.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 18, at 1:30 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, Ames with Rev. E. E. Peters of the United Brethren Church officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Adams Funeral Home from Saturday until time of services.
