Services set for A. P. Handly [sic]
ZEARING – Alfred P. Handly, Colo, 82, died about 8:20 p.m. Thursday at Mary Greeley Hospital after an illness of about three weeks.
He had been a Colo resident since 1910 and was a retired trucker.
Mr. Handy is survived by his wife, May; four sons, Harlan, of Albion, Ill., Clarton, Nevada, Norris, Tustan, Calif. and Allan, Denver, Colo; four daughters, Mrs. Martha Jean Ferguson, Aurora, Colo., Mrs. Marilyn Vanderlain, Charles City, Mrs. Ardeth Doris, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Jan Heintz, Rockwell, 16 grandchildren; two brothers, Nate and Joy, both of Bethune, Saskatchewan, Can., and sister, Mrs. Minnie Reetie, Antioch, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Colo Evangelical Brethern Church with the Rev. F. A. Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Colo Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Brouhard Funeral Home, Zearing.
Ames Daily Tribune, 18 Mar. 1966, P 2 C 4Alfred's birth name was Alfred Jahnke, he was the son of August F. Jahnke and Mary Ann Olson Jahnke. Born in St. Paul, and his family moved to Alliance, NE between 1886 and 1888 where Mary Ann's parents lived.
