Funeral Services Held for Mrs. Ray Sandvick
STORY CITY Funeral services were held Saturday, January 5 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City for Hazel May Sandvick who died upon arrival at Story City Hospital January 2, 1957.
Rev. Alvestad took his text from Isaiah 55:6-9. Mrs. Clare Anderson rendered two solos "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Den Store Hvide Flok."
Pall bearers were Marvin Sandvick, August Sandvick, Robert Sandvick, Herbert Knutson, David Knutson, and Warren Osmundson. Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.
Obituary
Hazel Mary Sandvick, daughter of L. S. and Anna Peterson was born in Rosendale, Iowa January 16, 1910.
She was baptized in St. Paul's Lutheran Church by Rev. M. N. Knutson and was confirmed at the same church in May 1924 by Rev. Hans Oppedal.
On January 12, 1954 she was united in marriage to Roy Sandvick. They resided on a farm near McCallsburg until March 1956 at which time they moved to live on a farm near Randall. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Story City.
Mrs. Sandvick passed away unexpectedly January 2, 1957 at the age of 46 years at the Story City Memorial Hospital.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Roy; her father L. S. Peterson of Story City, two brothers, Larry E. Peterson of Ames and Alfred L. Peterson, Los Angeles, Calif., three sisters, Almira (Mrs. Henry Knutson) of Des Moines, Mildred (Mrs. Martin Richardson) of Ames and Elsie Peterson of Los Angeles, Calif. Her mother and a brother preceded her in death.
