Dean Robertson, age 90, of Nevada, died Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Story County Medical Center in Nevada.

A Celebration of Dean's Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2018, at the Nevada Senior Center.

Dean Charles Robertson was born October 6, 1928, in Platte County, Nebraska, the son of Homer Dean and Clara (Gossman) Robertson. Dean graduated from Shipley High School and served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

On March 5, 1955, he was united in marriage to Pauline Joyce Wadsworth in Nevada. Dean worked as a computer programmer and data analyst for the State of Iowa. In earlier years he farmed and was employed at Donnelley Marketing.

Dean is survived by five children, Laurel (Mike) Speas of Port Washington, WI, Tim (Sheri) Robertson of Acworth, GA, Jeff (Kim) Robertson of West Bend, WI, Elizabeth (Betsy) Cosgrave of Colorado Springs, CO, and Lynn Robertson of Winston, GA; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim (Joan) Robertson of Delaware, and Steve (Jeanne) Robertson of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Lois Newton of Ames; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 2008; a daughter, Lisa Robertson in 2010; three grandchildren, Ashley, Abigail, and Walker Robertson; and his parents.

Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Dean and his family.
